Accompanied by Georges Bizet's famous score, obsession, intensity and drama are found in this modern-day reimagining of one of the world's most famous operas. The honorable soldier Don Jose. The proud toreador Escamillo. And Carmen, the seductive and passionate woman they both love. The stage is set for a tangled tale of passion and betrayal told through classical ballet with a contemporary edge.

The University of Kentucky Opera Theatre has canceled its June production of  a?oeIt's a Grand Night for Singing!a?? due to the current health crisis. However, the company is offering at-home options for patrons to enjoy.

Franco Dragone Announced as Director for Carmen, the Musical, to Hit Broadway 2006/2007

Robin de Levita, Dragone and The Firm have announced the creative team for CARMEN: The Musical, based on the classic 1845 novel by Prosper Mérimée, directed by Franco Dragone. With music by John Ewbank, and a book by Sarah Miles, a developmental staging will be work-shopped later this year, with a Broadway production targeted for the 2006/07 season.
