Groundhog Day 2017

After 176 performances and 32 previews, Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical Groundhog Day will play its final performance at the August Wilson Theatre today, September 17th.

Cast members from the Broadway musical Groundhog Day celebrated their Broadway run with a performance at Broadway at W New York on Sunday, September 10th at 7:30 pm. Miss Saigon star and Tony nominee Eva Noblezada was Sunday night's special guest performer. Today, Tuesday, August 15 at 6:15pm, the producers of the Olivier Award-winning Best New MusicalGroundhog Day, which opened on Broadway to critical acclaim this spring, announced that the show will end its run at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) on Sunday, September 17, following 176 performances and 32 previews.

Last night, legendary actor Bill Murray made a trip back to Punxsutawney as he attended Groundhog Day on Broadway for the first time. Murray starred as Phil Connors in the 1993 film which the musical is based on.

On a recent episode of Broadway Bartender, host Anthony Caporale welcomed Michael Fatica, Travis Waldschmidt, and Vishal Vaidya from the musical GROUNDHOG DAY to the bar. Of all the crazy aspects of the show, one that is most shocking is the amount of costume changes, and how quickly they happen.
