“If there were prizes for wiliness in dancing, David Zambrano would win them all. He looks deft enough to slip through cracks, dive into keyholes, invade your heart. He’s loose and resilient without any loss of precision.” —Village Voice
The audience gathers on the McGuire stage. The music starts, setting in motion an extraordinary experience. Soul Project is a series of virtuosic solos danced to classic soul recordings by the likes of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Bettye Lavette. Directed by Venezuelan-born choreographer David Zambrano, Soul Project is a collaboration with seven remarkable dancers from Mozambique, Slovenia, Greece, Slovakia, the US, and Venezuela. Witness the show from any angle in this clublike atmosphere, and after the Saturday performance, join us in a dance party celebrating the end of a great season. The cast also performs solos in the galleries on Thursday, May 10, from 6–9 pm .
