NUNSENSE at the BCC…It’s so funny, it should be sinful! The Barnstable Comedy Club, located at 3171 Main Street in Barnstable opens its 102nd season with the raucous musical comedy, NUNSENSE, book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin. The show is directed by Ann M. Ring, with music direction by Lisa Zinck Taylor and choreography by Elena Novero. NUNSENSE opens on Thursday, November 2 at 7:30 pm and continues through November 19 with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm. General admission tickets are $30/$28 for seniors 65+ and students. Tickets may be purchased online at www.BarnstableComedyClub.org or reserved by calling the box office at 508-362-6333. The powerhouse cast of nuns include Chris O’Sullivan, as Reverend Mother Mary Regina, Sonia Schonning as Sister Mary Hubert, Ruthe Lew as Sister Robert Anne, Kathy Hamilton as Sister Mary Amnesia, and Mackenzie O’Sullivan as Sister Mary Leo. NUNSENSE is the second-longest running off-Broadway production and its popularity has led to two films and six sequels. Goggin named the characters in honor of nuns from his school days and for whom he maintains an affection. Since its debut, NUNSENSE has delighted audiences with more than 5,000 productions worldwide and has been translated into 21 languages. The Little Sister of Hoboken are ready to sing and dance their way into the hearts of their audiences. Join Reverend Mother and four Sisters of the order in this hilarious spoof, as they put on a variety show that is sure to be “habit-forming.” Due to an unfortunate food poisoning incident, the Sisters find that they must hold a fundraiser to try and raise money to pay the burial costs of some of the dead nuns. A serious problem for sure, and a great reason why this show will have you absolutely roaring with laughter. NUNSENSE offers a cornucopia of hilarity for the whole family, proving conclusively that nun rhymes with fun!
