This morning, the highly anticipated artist lineup for the 31st annual 99.5 WYCD Downtown Hoedown, presented by Ram Trucks, Coors Light and Coca Cola, was officially announced on The All New Dr. Don Morning Show featuring some of country's greatest superstars including Jake Owen, Uncle Kracker, Joe Nichols and Craig Morgan. The weekend-long event will once again turn the expansive grounds surrounding Comerica Park into county music central from Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2. Last year's 30th anniversary event marked a tremendous milestone for Detroit's original country music must-see summer event with its debut move to Comerica Park.

Northpoint Learning Academy student Jason Bartley won the Judges' Choice Award for The Writer's Block while Grand Canyon School student Hailey Gaebel won the Audience Choice Award for The Inner Monster at the 3rd Annual Young Playwrights Festival (YPF) hosted by the Prescott Center for the Arts (PCA) on March 3.

The King's Theatre is gearing up for what will be an extraordinary morning when tickets for the globally phenomenal musical Wicked go on sale to the public for its Scottish Premiere. We are anticipating quite a buzz around tickets going on sale at the Box Office on Friday morning, considering what's been happening around the country so far. BrightSide Theatre has announced The BrightSide Theatre Youth Project which is designed to provide a professional and educational learning experience for grade school to high school students aged 8-18 interested in exploring musical theater. In this program, children work directly with professional directors, musical directors, choreographers, designers, and artists to develop their own theatrical skills. (The staff has/currently works with professional theatres including, Paramount Arts Center, First Folio, Chicago Shakespeare, Broadway in Chicago, Drury Lane Oak Brook.)

Amanda McBroom has been called 'the greatest cabaret performer of her generation, an urban poet who writes like an angel and has a voice to match.' Her name first came to the attention of the music public when Bette Midler's version of Amanda's song 'The Rose' hit number one all over the world. But it was Amanda's performance of her own songs on the Golden Globes, the Grammy awards, and the Tonight Show that launched her career as a singer as well as a songwriter. Her songs have been recorded by the likes of Bette Midler, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Barbara Cook, Harry Belafonte, Betty Buckley, The Manhattan Transfer, and Donny Osmond.

BrightSide Theatre continues its Second Season with the entertaining Modern Masterpiece and Tony Award winning comedy "God of Carnage" by Yasmina Reza, and translated by Christopher Hampton.

Last August, the Baltimore Playwrights Festival produced Passport, a new play by local playwright Kevin Kostic. Critically acclaimed, the piece told the story of an international aid worker trapped in a hotel room during the violent 2007 Kenyan election that left over 1,100 people dead and 600,000 displaced.

Burning Coal Theatre Company's 'Wait Till You See This' series and Mortall Coile Theatre Company presents Adam Rapp's Nocturne, directed by Dana Marks, and featuring Jesse Gephart. The Denver Center Theatre Company announced a 10-play season including four exhilarating world premieres selected from the 2013 Colorado New Play Summit. Karen Zacarias' adaptation of Helen Thorpe's book Just Like Us, Catherine Trieschmann's comedy The Most Deserving, Matthew Lopez's heartfelt The Legend of Georgia McBride and Marcus Gardley's adaptation of Homer's epic poem, black odyssey, will all take to the stage to dazzle Denver audiences. Also selected for the season is a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, an adaptation of a Marx Brother's script, Shakespeare's tragic masterpiece, a powerful and poignant love story and the return of a Christmas classic. 'We had such compelling and imaginative writing at this year's Colorado New Play Summit that could not be overlooked,' said Producing Artistic Director Kent Thompson. 'Our selections this year are wide-ranging and diverse and I think will bring excitement to our patrons' experience at the theatre.'

Utah Opera will present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's German opera "The Magic Flute," March 16, 18, 20 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre.

The Award-Winning Epic Theatre Ensemble, now in their 12th year presents William Shakespeare's RICHARD III: Born With Teeth, part of Shakespeare for a New Generation, a national program of the National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with Arts Midwest. The production, directed by Ron Russell, begins previews Off-Broadway on Tuesday, April 16th and opens Sunday April 21st at 7:30 PM at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). Seattle Theatre Group (STG) announced today that we will be presenting, Elvis Lives, 'The Ultimate Elvis Tribute' at The Paramount Theatre on May 8th at 8PM.

SISTER ACT, the family friendly, over the top spectacle with nuns that rock, opens at the Academy of Music on April 2 - 7 for a limited engagement as part of the Broadway Season, presented by The Kimmel Center and The Shubert Organization. The press opening is Tuesday, April 2 at 7:30 pm.

American Composers Orchestra's (ACO) 22nd Annual Underwood New Music Readings will take place on Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music (450 W. 37th St., NYC). The Readings include two public events - a working rehearsal on Monday at 10am, and a run-through on Tuesday at 7:30pm. The Atlanta Fringe Festival has announced that 7 Stages, already a venue sponsor and participant, has substantially increased their sponsorship and will serve as AFF's public and administrative headquarters during the Festival's run this June. In addition to hosting Fringe Central, the renowned local company will be providing performance space in their mainstage and black box theatres, as well as hosting the opening and closing night celebrations. The 2nd Annual Atlanta Fringe Festival, featuring twenty-four productions from ten states, will take place June 5-9, 2013.

The Seattle Theatre Group (STG), the non-profit arts operators of three historic Seattle theatres (Paramount, Moore and Neptune) has announced a new initiative presented with support from the Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods, STG's Nights at the Neptune: A People's Theatre Joint.

Inspired by events surrounding Philadelphia's Barnes Foundation, Thomas Gibbons' incisive drama Permanent Collection. The show continues InterAct Theatre Company's 25th Anniversary season as it grapples with conflicting perspectives on race and art. Directed by Producing Artistic Director Seth Rozin, InterAct is thrilled to present this revival of their most successful production in the theatre's history. Due to popular demand, the production has already been extended to May 5.
