Making Friends comes to Monkey Barrel in August
BWW caught up with Spencer Jones to chat about bringing Making Friends to the 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Tell us a bit about Making Friends.
Making Friends is the title of my new live comedy show. Its got a double meaning because its about making friends in a new area I moved to, and I make characters (friends)vc out of stuff. I was so chuffed to have thought of the show title. Such word play?! But the show isn't really about that. It's about me. Thats all I know for sure.
Is it difficult to perform a personal show?
No, I love it. I've got the best job in the world. Every show has been personal. But this is my most honest. Don't worry though, I still stick eyes on things and make them talk.
Having had successful runs at the Fringe before, do you think you know what to expect from the Fringe?
Yeaaahhhhhh. I know exactly what to expect. And a little bit no. 2019 was a long time ago, so maybe things have changed? I just hope people turn up.
Where else might we know you from?
If you are the difficult man that works in Avis Car Rental Crete, you will be aware of me.
If you saw a replacement goalkeeper with pink hair let in 16 goals in Kent, you will remember me.
If you are the lady who asks if I have a Coop card you will not remember me.
What would you like audiences to take away from it?
Who to vote for in the next general election. Obviously.
