4615 Theatre Company bids farewell with a surprise final production, the DC premiere of Anna Ziegler’s dazzlingly poetic, funny and heart-wrenching play, A DELICATE SHIP. This is a story about living on the precipice of change in our lives; how we cling to the past while searching for our next chapter…the perfect coda for our little theatre company that could. On a stormy Christmas eve in present day Brooklyn, new couple Sarah and Sam are spending a quiet holiday together. Then, a knock at the door, and in from the cold comes Sarah’s childhood best friend, Nate, bearing gifts of poetry, recreational drugs, and cheese doodles. What follows is an achingly beautiful, witty and tense tango between three 30-somethings at the turn of their lives, ricocheting between the present and old memories…with each providing their own commentary directly to the audience.
4615 Theatre Company is at Studio 1469, 1469 Harvard St REAR, NW, Washington, DC 20009, Washington, DC.
