La Llorona is a special Día de Muertos celebration that brings to life the enchanting story of the Mexican icon La Malinche through a blend of music, shadow puppetry, and traditional dance. Directed by Gerardo Avila, the performance features puppeteers Hazel Bell-Koski and Dana Wilson, storyteller Steven Schwable, and a captivating music and dance collaboration with Calle Verde. This event is part of the Downtown Eastside Heart of the City Festival and takes place at Carnegie Community Centre Theatre.
