Join pianist/composer Adam Sherkin with guest artists Chantelle Grant (mezzo-soprano), Ivan Ivanovich (viola) and Stephen Runge (piano) at The Arts & Letters Club in Toronto on Sunday, September 8th at 3pm. Adam Sherkin presents selections from Haydn’s 52-sonata catalogue, alongside Haydn-inspired contemporary works for keyboard (including his own!) Mezzo-soprano Chantelle Grant presents the delightful – and surprisingly unfamiliar – Scottish folk song arrangements by Haydn. Violist Ivan Ivanovich joins her in the two alto and viola songs by Brahms, Op. 91. Pianist Stephen Runge performs the second “London” sonata of Haydn, in D major, Hob.XVI/51 as well as contemporary British homages to Haydn. Please join us for this – the festival finale! – at Toronto’s Arts & Letters Club. DATE and LOCATION: Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at 3pm; Arts & Letters Club, 14 Elm St, Toronto, ON M5G 1G7 MAP
