The 2016 Bobby G Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievement in Colorado high-school theatre, were held May 26 at the Buell Theatre. Each of the five nominated Outstanding Musicals performed songs or medleys before the crowd of 1,700. Below are excerpts from each of those performances. The featured productions were: Cherry Creek High School's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; Denver School of the Arts' Spring Awakening; Mountain View High School's Anything Goes; Arvada West High School's Les Miserables; and Fairview High School's Guys and Dolls.

James (The Book of Mormon), Tony nominee Rob McClure (Chaplin), Shanice Williams, star of NBC's The Wiz Live! and Olivier Award nominee Jared Gertner (The Book of Mormon).  The 2016 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards Presented by the Investors Foundation ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 7, at 7:30pm, featuring presenters from Broadway and beyond. The ceremony was broadcast live on television and online through Paper Mill Playhouse video partner, Hometowne Television, of Summit, New Jersey.

In celebration of outstanding achievement in high school musical theater performances, Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the award recipients of the Fifth Annual Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards: Jack Cahill-Lemme of Park Ridge, IL (Main South High School) as BEST ACTOR for his portrayal of Edward Bloom in BIG FISH and Cecilia Trippiedi of Orland Park, IL (Carl Sandburg High School) as BEST ACTRESS for her portrayal of Eliza Doolittle in MY FAIR LADY. Jack and Cecilia will represent the state of Illinois at The Jimmy Awards in New York on June 27, 2016.

The Triangle Rising Star Awards is a regional competition that brings together high school musical theater students from Central and Eastern North Carolina to perform and compete for the chance to represent the Triangle in The National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York City every summer. The national competition celebrates outstanding student performances in high school musical productions from all over the United States.

Excited high school students, educators and supportive friends and family members packed McCaw Hall to celebrate The 14th Annual 5th Avenue Awards Honoring High School Musical Theater. The highly anticipated event, directed by Kat Ramsburg, handed out awards in 21 categories ranging from Outstanding Overall Musical Production to Outstanding Lobby Display. The crowd eagerly cheered for Washington's finest teenage performers as awards were accepted, local celebrity presenters spoke and nominated students performed musical excerpts from their acclaimed shows. On Thursday, May 26, 2016 The Orpheum Theatre announced the winners of the 2016 High School Musical Theatre Awards show.

Finalists for the fourth annual Bobby G Awards were released this afternoon. The awards program, which culminates in a Tony Awards-style ceremony and performance on May 26 at the Buell Theatre, celebrates outstanding achievement in high-school musical theatre in Colorado. This year the program was expanded to include 40 schools across Colorado, up from 30 the year before.

Along with Theatre in the Park, Playmakers Repertory Company and ABC 11, Durham Performing Arts Center is thrilled to present the culmination of this year's Triangle Rising Stars program announced from a record number of applicants. The Triangle Rising Stars Live Showcase and Awards show will take place at DPAC on Monday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. starring the student finalists from Triangle-area high school musical productions. Triangle Rising Stars is a non-profit education initiative created in 2010 to celebrate high school theater students who participate and excel with wide -ranging talents in their musical productions. Triangle Rising Stars is a regional qualifying program for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA).

On May 22, 2016 at approximately 6:55 pm, nearly 100 high school students anxiously stood behind a curtain on the stage of the Belk theater. At 7:06 pm, this curtain rose to reveal a completely sold out house comprised of parents, classmates, theater educators and industry professionals and acted as the beginning of one of the raddest nights of their lives.

With the aim of inspiring performance and recognizing the importance of musical theater and arts education in Northeast Ohio high schools, Playhouse Square proudly held its inaugural Dazzle Awards ceremony on Saturday, May 21. The Dazzle Awards are affiliated with the National High School Musical Theatre Awards ("The Jimmy Awards") presented by The Broadway League Foundation.

The fifth annual Blumenthal Performing Arts High School Musical Theater Awards culminated Sunday, May 22, at a gala award celebration where winners in 12 categories were announced and nominees for Best Actor, Best Actress and Wells Fargo Best Musical performed live on stage at the Belk Theater. The Blumey Awards were presented by Wells Fargo.

Middle Tennessee's growing high school theater scene was in the spotlight over the weekend as Lipscomb University's Department of Theatre - under the direction of dance professor Kari Smith and dean of the College of Entertainment and the Arts Mike Fernandez - hosted the third annual Nashville High School Musical Theatre Awards.
