The musical "Doctor Dolittle" is a whimsical adventure based on the stories of Hugh Lofting and the 1967 film of the same name. It follows the fantastical journey of Dr. John Dolittle, a veterinarian with a unique gift: he can understand and converse with animals!
The story unfolds in the quaint English village of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh. Dr. Dolittle's life is turned upside down when he's wrongly accused of murder. Thankfully, he's quickly exonerated. With a renewed sense of purpose, Dr. Dolittle embarks on a quest to find the Great Pink Sea Snail, the oldest and wisest creature on Earth. He believes the Snail holds the key to curing a mysterious illness plaguing the animal kingdom.
Accompanied by a loyal menagerie of animal companions, including Polynesia the parrot, Jip the dog, Dab-Dab the duck, and Chee-Chee the monkey, Dr. Dolittle sets sail on a grand adventure. Their journey takes them across continents, encountering exotic creatures and facing perilous situations. Through these challenges, Dr. Dolittle and his animal friends showcase the importance of friendship, understanding, and respecting all living creatures.
The musical features a delightful score with well-known songs like the Academy Award-winning "Talk To The Animals" and other catchy tunes that bring the animal characters and their world to life.
