Looking for late-night laughs? Don’t panic! Grab your towel and come to the Acting Ensemble for a staged reading of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy! Originally conceived in 1978 as a BBC radio series, the Hitchhiker’s Guide is the masterwork of British comedy writer Douglas Adams. The story has since been realized as a TV miniseries, a set of bestselling novels, a computer game and a major motion picture. Join us as we recount the tale of Arthur Dent, a perfectly normal Earth-man who is saved by his friend, Ford Prefect (who reveals himself as an alien from somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse) just moments before the destruction of the planet. Soon they find themselves entangled in a quest to find the answer to the ultimate question of Life, the Universe and Everything. Will they succeed against infinitely improbable odds? Will they pay their tab at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe? Will Arthur ever have another decent cup of tea? The Answer may not be what you expect! Adapted and directed by Geoff Trowbridge, this staged reading is based upon the original radio scripts. Cast includes: Michael Clarkson, William Loring, Dave Kempher, Nick Hidde-Halsey, Amberly Nichols, Mark Torma, Angie Berkshire, Brent Graber, Mark Moriarty. (10:00 pm)
