CLIFF & THE SHADOWS: AN EVENING WITH TRIBUTE at Kalk Bay Theatre

TRIBUTE comprises five musicians from the old school, namely Ivor Norman on lead guitar, Peter Denyssen on rhythm, Mike Whare on Bass, Steve Dampster on drums and Roger Harrison on keyboard backing. Their vocalist is Michael Georgopoulus. All have and still do play in other bands, but when it comes to the music of Cliff and The Shadows, a love and passion for this genre drives them on and together they have formed what is arguably the finest exponent of this music in Cape Town.

To achieve that genuine Shadows sound they have even gone as far as importing the very same type of guitars used by Hank, Bruce and John/Mark so as to capture the very sound that enthralled millions of people around the world for virtually the last fifty years. The show should get fans and newbies alike tapping their feet to one of the greatest sounds of the Sixties. Come along and enjoy a musical journey back to the days when the original group topped the charts for weeks with hit tunes such as 'Atlantis', 'Apache', 'Wonderful Land' and many others, all faithfully recreated by the band.
