In 1974 the South Korean government censorship committee refused to grant a license for this play to be performed because it satirized overbearing bureaucrats and warped military thinking. The play features, however, an imaginative blending of farce, allegory, and theatre of the absurd as the author focuses on a young draftee and the unfortunate circumstances of his military service.
