Puss in Boots, or the Master Cat, is one of the great fairy tales in Western literature. First put to paper by Giovanni Francesco Straparola in the 1550s, Puss in Boots is the story of a talking cat who serves his poor owner by his wits, making his master wealthy, finding him love, and stealing him a kingdom. Ludwig Tieck's 1797 stage version of the play, first performed in German, is a brilliant amalgam of the fairy tale, children's theater, and social satire. Rarely performed in the United States, Tieck's Puss in Boots, a Fairy Tale for Children is a joyous early example of absurdist theater. Directed by Philip J. Here are the first images from Hackney Empire's 2013 pantomime Puss in Boots. The iconic London pantomime is written and directed by Susie McKenna who celebrates her 15th Hackney pantomime this year.

Hackney Empire has just released production images of their 2013 pantomime, PUSS IN BOOTS. Kat B, Sharon D Clarke, Josefina Gabrielle and Stephen Matthews star in this year's iconic Hackney pantomime. London's No.1 pantomime will run to the 05 January 2014 with press night set for Wednesday 04 December, 7pm. Scroll down for a first look at the cast in action!

The Imaginary Theatre Company, the young audiences touring ensemble of The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, supported by a $25,000 grant from Brown Shoe Company and a $25,000 grant from the Monsanto Fund, will present Puss in Boots on Saturday, March 17, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Heagney Theatre on the campus of Nerinx Hall High School, 530 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves.
