First look photos have been released of Al Murray (The Pub Landlord) and Mel Giedroyc (BBC 1’s The Great British Bake Off, Channel 4’s Light Lunch) who are set to start in the hilarious new West End comedy, The Crown Jewels which runs at The Garrick Theatre from Friday 7 July – Saturday 16 September 2023 ahead of regional tour dates.

Marilyn Maye rang in the 2023 New Year's with a weekend of Holiday shows in the Birdland Theater just down the street from Times Square. As the ball dropped, the toasts went up and the songs poured out. With 4 nights of shows, from Dec 29th to Jan 1st (7 shows in all), she provided a proper musical CHEERS to the NYC audience. Amazing Maye!

What did our critic think of WEST SIDE STORY at Operaen? Leonard Bernsteins udødelige klassiker West Side Story har fået nyt liv på operaen i København og dette er gjort med en kærlighed for det oprindelige værk sikkert ført i havn af instruktør Thomas Bendixen, som har gjort at de 2 timer og 20 min, som forestillingen varer bare flyver afsted og ingen af scenerne bliver på noget tidspunkt kedelige og langtrukken, det glider som smurt i olie. Palle Steen Christensen står for scenografien og her må man bare sige, wow det er gennemtænkt og storslået man bliver ved med at finde nye muligheder til at bruge scenografien og det er som en julekalender, der bliver ved med at åbne sig og afslører nye ting. I de to store hovedroller ses som Maria Emilie Groth Christensen og hun har så meget sødme og fanden i voldskhed, at man ikke kan andet en føle med Maria, hun er en drøm af en Maria. Søren Torpegaard Lund er hendes Tony og ud over han har en drøm af en sangstemme, så spiller han også røven ud af bukserne, så man som tilskuere sidder og hepper på Tony frem til det sidste. Forestillingen spilles på dansk og jeg plejer tit at krumme tæer over de danske oversættelser, men det er faktisk lykkedes Det Kongelige Teater at få en oversættelse, hvor hjerte ikke skal rime på smerte og dette er et kæmpe plus og det er med til, at man let kan se bort fra, at det hele tales og synges på dansk. En helt formidabel forestilling som bare skal opleves, før det er for sent.

Cobb PARKS and the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre are continuing their 2022 concert series with the hit Andrew Lippa musical, THE WILD PARTY. Based on the 1926 poem by Joseph Moncure March, this roaring production features a cast of 13 actors and 9 musicians, and will be available to stream June 17-19.

I first discovered the Dollface Dames troupe of high-class, Burlesque entertainers in 2017 and have enjoyed their show-stopping style of entertainment at several venues around town since then. But 2020 brought on major changes for all in-person entertainment, so how have the Dollface Dames been keeping their unique brand of Burlesque available to audiences during the shutdown and what's next for them? To find out, I spoke with Lola Boutée who founded the group in 2008.

The London Cabaret Club is set to be the amongst the first performing arts venues to reopen in London’s legendary West End – as they reveal plans for job creation to give the struggling hospitality industry a much-needed boost.

This Spotlight focuses on composer, conductor, lyricist, and producer Christopher Raymond who has won an NAACP, Stage Raw and Broadway World Awards for his work in theatre. Chris has also music directed several Los Angeles area awards shows as well as 14 productions with DOMA Theatre Company in Hollywood, among many others. And in December 2018, he became Music Director for Valley Outreach Synagogue in Calabasas where Passover and Shabbat services are being LiveStreamed from home.

The Broadway musical is finally coming to Oslo and on September 16, 2020, it is ready for Norwegian premiere at Chateau Neuf! The true story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. It will star Atle Pettersen, Nicolay Ramm, Mathias Luppichini and Sindre Postholm. The production will be directed by Tore Sergei Myklebust and choreographed by Kirsty McDonald (Flashdance - The Musical). Hans Einar Apelland will serve as Musical Director and stage design and costumes by Takis.

On Friday, November 8th White Horse Theater Company opened the World Premiere of Broken Story written and directed by Cyndy A. Marion at The Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, New York, NY 10012).

On Saturday, September 28, the 2019 Global Citizen Festival, presented by Citi and Cisco, marked its eighth year on the Great Lawn of New York's Central Park.
