Cry-Baby The Musical makes its Long Island Premiere tonight at The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre, running through May 12th.

CRY-BABY follows the star-crossed teen romance between delinquent Wade 'Cry-Baby' Walker and the rich and square Allison Vernon-Williams in 1950's Baltimore. Drama Learning Center's professional training program for emerging young artists will present the area premiere of Cry-Baby the Musical this June. Adapted from the cult classic 1990 John Waters film, Cry-Baby follows the star-crossed teen romance between delinquent Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker and the rich and square Allison Vernon-Williams in 1950's Baltimore. The original Broadway cast of CRY-BABY took the stage at 54 Below for a reunion concert last night. Cry-Baby is based on the movie of the same name by John Waters and features a score by David Javerbaum (Act of God) and Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), and a book by Mark O'Donnell (Hairspray) and Thomas Meehan (Annie). Although it only ran for three months, Cry-Baby was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the long-awaited official cast album will be released shortly. 

New Line Theatre, 'the Bad Boy of Musical Theatre,' continues its 21st season of rock theatre through March 24, 2012 with the American regional premiere of the Broadway rock musical CRY-BABY. Check out the production photos below!

On Wednesday, February 19, the cast of the up-coming musical 'Cry-Baby' held a press meet and greet at New 42nd Street Studios. Based upon the Universal Pictures film written and directed by John Waters, 'Cry-Baby' will premiere at Broadway's Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway) beginning previews Saturday, March 15 at 8PM and opening Thursday, April 24 at 6:30PM.
