It was an incredible night for Toronto theatre when our community joined together to celebrate another year of performing arts in Toronto on the evening of June 23rd at the WestJet Stage at the Harbourfront Centre for the 35th Annual Dora Awards! For the 2013-2014 season, 143 producing companies (up 41 from last season's 102) registered eligible productions. A total of 48 Dora Awards, plus the Silver Ticket Award and the Audience Choice Award, were given out in a glittering ceremony hosted by Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus, founding Co-Artistic Directors of the three-time Canadian Comedy Award-winning The National Theatre of the World.

On Saturday at the Shaftesbury Theatre the Military Wives Choir shared the stage with the full company of From Here to Eternity to mark today's anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, an event integral to the plot of the musical. Introduced by Tim Rice, the choir of 36 joined the company for a moving curtain call rendition of Boys of '41 - the song in the show dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.

From Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead to The History Boys, from The Mysteries to Angels in America, from Guys and Dolls to London Road - join us for a thrilling evening of live performance and rare glimpses from the archive, featuring many of the most celebrated actors who have performed on our stages over the past five decades and directed by Nicholas Hytner.

Further casting has been announced for the British premiere of Jerry Herman's musical DEAR WORLD, starring Betty Buckley and Paul Nicholas and directed and choreographed by Gillian Lynne, from 4 February - 30 March 2013, with a press night on Wednesday 13 February.
