Broadway legend Chita Rivera made her Cafe Carlyle just last night with An Evening of My Favorite Songs, an engagement that was postponed earlier this year due to an injury. Now she's ready to take the stage for a two-week engagement, through April 30. BroadwayWorld brings you a look inside her first performance below!

The Off-Broadway premiere of Jerry Mayer's new comedy, 2 Across, began a open-ended engagement on November 14th at St. Luke's Theatre (308 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Emmy Award nominee Evelyn Rudie ("Eloise") directs a cast that stars Andrea McArdle and Kip Gilman. Opening Night is set for Wednesday December 9th.

BROADWAY GYPSY TEA DANCE recently gathered at the rooftop bar Top of the Strand at the Strand Hotel (33 West 37th Street) to celebrate Chita Rivera's 2015 Tony Award nomination, enlisting dancers from most of Broadway's shows. Those represented included The King & I, Aladdin, Kinky Boots, Something Rotten, Wicked, American in Paris, The Lion King and gypsies who danced with Rivera in her last Broadway show A Dancer's Life. It's delightful, it's delicious – it's cliché to use the lyrics from “It's De-Lovely” when describing a Cole Porter production, I know. But when it comes to a production which not only tells his story, but seeks to educate the audience about why Porter was one of the geniuses of American musical theater, it only seems appropriate.
