Directors Gathering (DG), a Philadelphia-based membership organization that provides development, community, and process-based opportunities for regional theatre directors, is excited to announce their 2019 (DG) Jam, a day-long workshop, performance, and celebration of theatre directors and their original work. This special event, which is akin to a performing arts take of the popular television baking competition The Great British Bake-Off, will take place on May 11, 2019 at The Painted Bride Arts Center in Philadelphia. The public is invited to the event starting at 6PM.
“Oscars Live on the Red Carpet,” the official pre-show for the most glamorous show in Hollywood, will give viewers live access to the night's nominees, performers and presenters beginning at 3:30 p.m. PST/6:30 p.m. EST on The ABC Television Network. The red carpet festivities will be hosted by actress and television personality Maria Menounos, award-winning journalist Elaine Welteroth, supermodel Ashley Graham, and actor and singer Billy Porter. Menounos, Welteroth and Graham will interview the nominees, performers and attendees as they arrive, while Porter provides all the
fashion and glamour commentary on Oscar Sunday.
PUFFS or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic, New York's long-running hit comedy, will celebrate its landmark 750th performance Off Broadway with the announcement that Del Rey Books will publish PUFFS: The Essential Companion, the official behind-the-scenes companion to the show. This illustrated guide includes a full script of the play annotated with insights from creator Matt Cox, and a wealth of material including interviews with cast and crew, production photos and designs, deleted and alternate scenes, and much more. The book, featuring extra material written by Jason Fry, will be published on November 5.
