Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST), the City of Chicago, Chicago Park District and Boeing partner to present the annual citywide summer tradition, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks. This summer, 26 performances of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream travel to 18 neighborhood parks across Chicago, FREE FOR ALL, July 18-August 17, 2014. From Hamilton Park and Garfield Park Conservatory to the South Shore Cultural Center and Gage Park, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks activates communities and breaks down barriers to arts participation, giving Chicagoans direct access to their City's cultural treasures. In its third year, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks returns to 18 communities, truly establishing the program as a Chicago summer tradition and deepening relationships with neighbors, community leaders and local businesses.

The Board of Directors, the 2014 Ball Committee, and Maestro Mei-Ann Chen of the Chicago Sinfonietta, will celebrate 27 years of musical excellence, diversity and innovation at the Annual Ball held at the Fairmont Chicago, 200 North Columbus Drive on Saturday, May 31, 2014. The professional orchestra, which re-invents the symphonic experience through collaboration with non-conventional artists in all mediums, hopes to raise nearly a half-million dollars in what is widely-considered one of the city's hottest tickets of the social season with more than 500 of the city's most prominent "movers and shakers" expected to be in attendance.

The Ruth Page Center for the Arts will hold its annual Ruth Page Gala at the Chicago Yacht Club, 400 E. Monroe St., Saturday, May 10. The evening begins at 5:45 p.m. with an Admiral and Commodore VIP Reception, followed by dinner and dancing at 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Entertainment for the evening will consist of the Distinguished Service Award Presentation to Newberry Library, live performances, live and silent auctions and music by internationally renowned DJ (and Ruth Page Alum) Lady D. "First Mate" tickets are available for $150 and "Commodore" tickets are available for $300, with the latter providing access to the VIP reception.
