Pittsburgh CLO and the University of Pittsburgh are proud to announce the nominees for the Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater. The awards show will take place on May 23, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at the Benedum Center in downtown Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater is currently enrolling students entering grades 1-12 who are interested in musical theater for its 2009 Summer Camps. Each fun-filled session is designed to give kids the opportunity to experience preparing for and performing on the stage. Working with a director, music director and choreographer, students will create their own exciting musical theater experience.

Pittsburgh CLO's 2009 Summer Season will showcase a mix of Broadway blockbusters, bold new shows and musical theater gems, highlighted by casts featuring some of the most critically-acclaimed and respected actors working in theater today.

Polyester shirts, halter tops, platform shoes and 10 years of groundbreaking music will be brought to life on stage in 8-TRACK, The Sounds of the 70's, playing May 21 through September 27 at the CLO Cabaret. Applications are now available for the 2009 Pittsburgh CLO Summer Internship Program. The Summer Internship Program lasts approximately 10 weeks, running from early May through mid-August, and affords college students 18 years of age and older the opportunity to work one-on-one with musical theater industry professionals.
