Independent Shakespeare Co. (ISC), presenters of the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival and recipients of the 2015 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in theater, announce the debut of a new works reading series, iambic lab, presented Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13 at 7:30pm and Sunday, February 14 at 2pm at Independent Studio in the Atwater Crossing Arts + Innovation Complex, 3191 Casitas Ave., #168 in Atwater Village.

Christina Cole (The Magistrate, The Lightening Play), Jennifer Mudge (Into The Woods, Dutchman) and Lloyd Owen (Good People, The Bodyguard) join internationally acclaimed actor Matthew Perry (Friends, The Odd Couple) to complete the cast in the World Premiere of his playwriting debut, The End of Longing, at the Playhouse Theatre, London, from 2 February - 14 May 2016.  Design is by the 2015 Evening Standard award-winner, Anna Fleischle (Hangmen), with lighting by Lucy Carter and composition and sound by Isobel Waller-Bridge. Walnut Street Theatre continues its landmark 207th season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway and Hollywood comedy, HARVEY. Directed by Bob Carlton, the play begins previews tonight, January 19th, opens on January 27th and runs through March 6th on the Walnut's Mainstage.

Chichester Festival Theatre's highly acclaimed and sell-out production of GUYS AND DOLLS opens at London's Savoy Theatre tonight, January 6, for a strictly limited 13-week run. Chichester continues its triumphant musical successes with this exuberant revival which follows transfers of Singin' in the Rain, The Pajama Game and, most recently, Gypsy. Sophie Thompson and Jamie Parker will reprise their roles.

Preempted by the holiday favorite, the National Dog Show, the Black Eyes Bar crew will be back with an all-new live episode next Friday; well, actually two all-new episodes, since the UNDATEABLE gang performs each episode twice, once live for the East Coast, and again live for the West Coast. One of the joys of my Monday morning is watching both versions back-to-back on Hulu to see what jokes were added for the second broadcast.

Billy Elliot the Musical today (16 November 2015) welcomes Euan Garrett, 12 years old from East Lothian, Scotland, who will make his West End stage debut at the Victoria Palace Theatre as the forty-second boy to play the title role in the iconic British musical in London.  Also joining the cast today is Matthew Seadon-Young who will play Billy's older brother Tony.

?The fringed curtains of thine eye advance and will look upon the 2016 season of Shakespeare in the Park by Shakespeare Dallas. The 2016 season features two classic Shakespeare plays, Richard III and The Tempest, as well as She Stoops to Conquer, by the comedic Irish playwright, Oliver Goldsmith. Prior to the season's opening in June, general auditions will be held Jan. 23-24. The performances of the popular outdoor theater series will take place at Samuell Grand Amphitheater, 1500 Tenison Parkway in Dallas and at Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle, in Addison, and is expected to draw crowds totaling 50,000 individuals every summer and fall.
