One spring, Mr. & Mrs. Jay teach their young chicks to fly. But one chick is different from the other chicks. His legs grow and grow until he is so tall, he can't fly. His parents call him Tall Jay. When he is teased and laughed at by his siblings, Tall Jay runs away. He is sad, forlorn and lonely as he faces a strange world all alone. Along the way, he meets some interesting critters and finds a friend at last. His unusual friend takes Tall Jay to a place that changes his life forever. Tall Jay can't fly, but he soon discovers a talent that makes him very special!
