18 Suffolk Street London SW1Y 4HT London

Lucian Msamati and Ben Whishaw star in one of the greatest plays of the 20th century – Samuel Beckett’s masterpiece, Waiting for Godot, directed by James Macdonald.

Didi and Gogo wait by a tree for a man named Godot. They don’t know who he is, why they are meeting or what time he is coming – only that something incredible could happen when he does...

“Let us do something, while we have the chance…at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it before it is too late!”

Don’t miss the play that changed the rules. Waiting for Godot opens at the historic Theatre Royal Haymarket for a strictly limited season from September 2024.

Review: ON BECKETT at A.C.T. Geary Theatre
by Steve Murray - Oct 20, 2022

What did our critic think of ON BECKETT at A.C.T. Geary Theatre? On Beckett is an obvious labor of love, combining the phenomenal clown skills of the great Bill Irwin with his affection for the works of Samuel Beckett. Great comics often make great dramatic actors (e.g., Gleason, Lewis, Williams) and Irwin can, in a split second and with the aid of some clown props, morph into Beckett's complex, Irish voiced characters. The result is a stunning one-man show that delights and challenges.

by Jim Munson - Oct 20, 2022

What did our critic think of ON BECKETT at A.C.T.? Master clown Bill Irwin is the perfect guide through the world of Samuel Beckett in this beguiling and exceedingly entertaining show that excavates the humor in the great master's work while still honoring its underlying existential angst.

Review: WAITING FOR GODOT at Barrington Stage Company
by Marc Savitt - Aug 28, 2022

Where most productions paint the duo as downtrodden and rather depressed, here the two main characters are painted with s sense of comedic timing and light-heartedness that almost seems choregraphed. A performance harkening back to some of the greatest comedic duos. The likes of Lewis and Martin, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy.
