SPIDER-MAN co-book writer Glen Berger has written a 'tell-all' book about the behind-the-scenes battle that took place during the development of the Broadway musical SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK. Titled 'The Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History', the book will hit shelves on November 5th from Simon & Schuster Publishing. ?'No More Mr. Nice Guy for Alice Cooper! According to the New York Post's Michael Riedel, rocker Alice Cooper is currently in negotiations to take on the role of supervillain the Green Goblin in Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK.
This past Saturday evening, the youngest living Medal of Honor recipient (Sergeant Dakota Meyer) attended SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark. Bob Cuccioli, who plays Green Goblin, gave the following curtain call speech:
Jason Gotay, who recently appeared on Broadway as "Randall" in Bring It On: The Musical, will join the company of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark as the Peter Parker / Spider-Man Alternate. Gotay will play select performances at the Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) with a varied week to week performance schedule beginning at the end of October. Matt Wilkas will continue to perform the role of the alternate in the interim.

On August 15, the performance was halted and audience members sent home after a piece of equipment pinned an actor's leg underneath it, causing the injury.
During the 'back-to-school' period, Spider-Man is giving free limited edition Spider-Man Turn off The Dark backpacks. Some backpacks have a 'golden ticket' that gives them backstage access to meet cast members and have a backstage tour. This weekend two lucky winners were taken back and met Green Goblin and others, and took a tour. Last night, August 29, the latest Medal of Honor recipient, Staff Sergeant Ty Carter, attended Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark. This past Monday, Carter was honored by President Obama this past Monday for rescuing a fellow soldier in Afghanistan. At the end of the performance, Bob Cuccioli (Green Goblin) gave a curtain call speech honoring Carter, and then welcomed him back stage for a meet and greet with cast members Rebecca Faulkenberry and Reeve Carney. According to the New York Times, Curry remains at Bellevue Hospital, where he just had his third foot surgery.

At 9:08 PM the performance was halted and audience members sent home after a piece of equipment pinned an actor's leg underneath it, causing the injury, according to the FDNY, who were called and acted as first responders to the incident.
Actors' Equity Association released the following statement on the acciednt:
'Following last night's accident at SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, Daniel Curry remains in the hospital in stable condition having sustained an injury to his foot. Tonight's performance will go on as scheduled. The technical elements of the show are all in good working order, and we can confirm that equipment malfunction was not a factor in the incident. Our thoughts are with Daniel and his family.'
