Karen Mason, star of Broadway's Mamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard, and Wonderland and 12-time MAC Award winner will brighten up the historic Orinda Theatre for the holidays and the Live At the Orinda 2018 concert series season finale.
Karen Mason will make her Orinda debut coming directly from her role as Madame Giry in the North American Premier of Love Never Dies, Andrew Lloyd Webber's epic sequel to The Phantom Of The Opera. On Broadway, Mason originated the role of Tanya in Mamma Mia!, replaced in the roles of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard and of Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray, and created the role of the Queen of Hearts in Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland in 2011. One of the stage's most dynamic and engaging live performers, Karen Mason is also regarded as one of the premier cabaret artists of our time. In addition to winning the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Award as Major Female Vocalist for six consecutive years, she won two more in 2018: Celebrity Artist and Major Recording, for her acclaimed It's About Time.
