Cherlle first gained fame in the mid-1980s, when her “light and airy” soprano voice inspired Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to produce her and showcase her gift to the world. Her signature hits include “I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On,” “Where Do I Run To,” “Everything I Miss At Home,” and duets with R&B singer Alexander O’Neal, such as “Saturday Love” and “Never Knew Love Like This,” as well as “Always” with her cousin Pebbles. One of the up-and-coming ballad stylists in the 1990s Urban Contemporary generation, Keith Washington rode to fame with his 1991 LP Make Time For Love, which featured the R&B smash “Kissing You.” The song was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, and won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single by a Male. The song also topped the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Other hits include “Are You Still In Love With Me,” “Make Time For Love,” Bring It On,” “When You Love Somebody” and more.
