Actors Conservatory Theatre’s Junior Troupe will present The Little Mermaid on March 15, 16, 17 2024 ACT’s Junior Troupe offers young people in grades 5 through 12 the opportunity to perform in main stage productions with the support of ACT’s directors, choreographers, producers and technical staff who have years of experience working with young people in theatre – all at no tuition cost to students or their families. The Little Mermaid is based on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, and the wildly popular Disney film. This whimsical musical features Ariel - a spirited, headstrong teenager who lives in an underwater world. But Ariel yearns to live in the human world - so she strikes a deal with the conniving sea witch, Ursula, and that's when the real adventure begins. Along with her trusty friends - Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab - Ariel bravely navigates an exciting, music-filled journey through both worlds. This 2008 musical is based on the 1989 Disney film "The Little Mermaid" - book by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman, with additional lyrics by Glenn Slater. The Little Mermaid is presented under the direction/musical direction of George Croom and choreography of Janice Paganelli.
