The Philipstown Depot Theatre presents SIGHTINGS – a new play about three teens swept up Garrison, NY – It’s March 1983, and on an eerily quiet night in a city park along the Hudson River, three high school seniors get the shock of their lives when they witness something in the night sky that they can't explain. Now bound together by this unsettling mystery, the teens must decide what to do. A secret pact, a painful struggle, and a shattering betrayal could jeopardize each teen’s hopes for the future. SIGHTINGS is a suspenseful coming-of-age play about friendship and belonging, seeing and being seen, set against a backdrop of social change and unexplained phenomena that swept through the Hudson Valley in the early 1980s. SIGHTINGS was written by local playwright Mona Z. Smith and directed by Traci Mariano. The cast features three young actors making their Depot debuts as they play the three teenagers – they are Anuka Sethi, Michael Tyler Jennings, and Emilio Picayo. Three veteran Hudson Valley performers play the teens’ parents, plus 15 other roles – they are Karen Kapoor, Robert “Bobby” Convertino, and Jordan Kaplan. Set design by Christopher Nowak, costumes are by Murell Horton and Shawna Chandler, lighting design by David Aab and sound design by Gary Ljundquist.
