NICHOS, a multidisciplinary theater production created by Tanaquil Márquez, Ximena Violante, and Calo Rosa, traces the evolution of Mexican culture over 500 years of history. Set against the backdrop of the final days of the Aztec empire, it follows three families on their immigration journeys, exploring themes of identity, displacement, and cultural preservation. The show features original music inspired by Son Jarocho traditions and integrates visual art through a large nicho set designed by muralist Calo Rosa. The cast includes professional actors Victor Rodriguez, Gabbie Velasquez, and Nayeli De Jesus, alongside 15 community members making their stage debut.
