Acclaimed British dancer-choreographer Akram Khan presents his spectacular new ensemble work, Vertical Road, a meditation on the journey from gravity to grace. This exquisite production is an exploration of spirituality and transcendence, displaying an ambitious series of metaphors about humanity. At once striking and prolific, strong hums and frenetic beats unleash the boldness and wild impulses of the dancers to create viscerally gripping sequences. Driven by a meditative score, specially commissioned by long-time collaborator, composer Nitin Sawhney, the soulful choreography is a refreshingly moving display of the pursuit of truth and enlightenment.
