The New York Black Arts Festival proudly presents “The Wiz” TYA version by William F. Brown, Charlie Smalls. Opening July 8th at the Dempsey Theater and continuing by popular demand at the Riverside Theater. Based on the original 7 Tony Award winning Broadway musical, this is the familiar story of Dorothy’s tornado-driven adventure in an Afrocentric land of Oz and the wonderful characters who befriend and protect her: the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion. Ease on down the road with the toe-tapping music such as "Home," "Ease on Down the Road," "Believe in Yourself," "No Bad News" "Be A Lion" and many more in this modern classic that is colorful, adorable summer fun for the whole family!
