The Waters of Friendship by the acclaimed Argentinean playwright Arístides Vargas will have its English world premiere at LATEA Theater as part of their Fall programming.
Plot: Two women in exile find themselves on strange land where the past, present and future all collide. Catalina faces imminent death, while Miranda accompanies her in her final hours. They share real and imagined memories of their past, and find in each other a community to help illuminate themes of immigration, gendered violence, religion, and the loneliness of political and spiritual exile. Funny, moving, and thoroughly poetic, The Waters of Friendship is a love letter to friendship and solidarity.
