Join MusicTalks in a special tribute to George Gershwin’s legacy with The Broadway Classics: From Rhapsody in Blue to Broadway. Experience his beloved music in an intimate and conversational setting with MusicTalks’ unique presentation format. Throughout the performance, eight-time Emmy winner and host of NY1’s “On Stage” Frank DiLella shares anecdotes and stories, breaking down the barriers between audience and performer. The program centers around a new arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue for string quintet and piano by Nathalie Tenenbaum, and special guest star, Tony-nominated Broadway icon Orfeh, will round out the performance with new renditions of works from The Great American Songbook, which features lyrics by George’s brother, Ira Gershwin. Immediately after the performance, audiences will have the opportunity to meet Frank DiLella, Orfeh, and the performing artists at a ticketed wine reception.
JCC Manhattan is at 334 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10023, New York, NY.
