Highbridge Voices Annual Benefit Concert on June 19th will present beautiful and uplifting choral pieces, joined by three-time Grammy Award winning saxophonist, Ron Blake, at Theatre at St. Jeans in NYC Bronx, New York - Highbridge Voices (HBV), celebrating 26 years of instructing and presenting the most promising minority youth choral singers from Highbridge (Bronx), is excited to present its annual benefit on “Juneteenth” at 7pm at the Theatre at St. Jeans (76th at Lexington Avenue, Manhattan). Led by HBV Music Director, Joseph Hudson and the Sacred Heart School Music Director, Michelle Trinidad, the benefit will honor Abigail Akano, Principal of Sacred Heart School (Bronx) for her extraordinary educational contribution to Highbridge, and feature three-time Grammy Award winning & Saturday Night Live saxophonist, Ron Blake. Proceeds will provide support for HBV programs and HBV musical instruction throughout the Highbridge community. Concert will be preceded by a cocktail party at 5:30 PM. HBV continues notable community connections with collaborations with Sacred Heart School, Highbridge Green School, MOSAIC Beacon, PS 114, PS 11 and All Hallows High School in the Bronx. We plan to provide opportunities for HBV students to receive subsidized education at All Hallows and Sacred Heart as well as provide our after-school opportunities for students from public and private schools at HBV. In addition, HBV maintains partnerships with Fordham University for academic support, the Dr. Richard Barnett Foundation, as well as Catholic Charities, Highbridge Community Development Corporation, and others.
