It’s been a while since Dean has come into contact with many people when his sister Ellie invites him to spend the night with her and her fiancée, Daniel, on the Ommegang Brewery camp grounds after a concert. Dean is a simple man with simple pleasures, like firearms and alcohol. Ellie and Daniel are liberal, non-monogamous, podcast-loving New Yorkers; she an unsuccessful artist and he a relationship and sex columnist. As the reunion unfolds, so do inherent socio-political differences, resentments and hidden family traumas. When they make a new friend–a young, gay, black Brooklynite named Gary–Dean’s intolerance finally has its reckoning. Front Lines was a Semi-Finalist at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference in 2016.
