YONKERS, NY - Prepare to be captivated and inspired as MorDance presents an unforgettable evening of ballet to the Hudson River Museum's picturesque amphitheater. On July 20th at 8:00 PM, audiences will experience a mesmerizing blend of revival works and the highly anticipated world premiere of “River Bound”, all showcasing the company’s exceptional artistry and innovative choreography. The performance will open with the emotive pas de deux from MorDance's critically acclaimed reinterpretation of the classic Romeo and Juliet. This will be followed by a vibrant duet that celebrates the timeless music of jazz musician Fats Waller, capturing the dynamic rhythms and spirit of his work. Audiences will then experience a powerful and evocative duo from MorDance's upcoming premiere, inspired by the groundbreaking research of scientist Susanne Simard on the interconnectedness of trees. The evening will culminate in the premiere of choreographer Morgan McEwen's latest creation “River Bound”—a profound exploration of the river's impact on artistic practice, spiritual beliefs, and life itself. This ballet is the crowning achievement of MorDance’s Teaching Artist In Residence with the Hudson River Museum and draws inspiration from the compelling stories of six artists whose lives and work have been shaped by rivers. The creation of this remarkable new work has been generously sponsored by Karen Lin Su and Edwin Su. Following the performance, there will be a Q&A session with the company, providing an opportunity for the audience to delve deeper into their creative process and the fascinating intersection of ballet and visual art.
