Alison Cook Beatty Dance, along with Thomas/Ortiz Dance and East Coast Contemporary Ballet, present ARTISTS IN MOTION 2024. Join these companies for a highlight performance of their season on November 1st at 7 p.m. at The Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York City! This one-night-only performance promises a captivating mix of modern, contemporary, and ballet pieces that you won’t want to miss. In this finale performance of the company’s 12th season, Alison Cook Beatty Dance will feature Act 1 of HUMANITAS, a piece choreographed in 2017 to Respighi's "Ancient Airs and Dances," inspired by the paintings of Botticelli. Additionally, they will perform NEW LOOM, commissioned by Marymount Manhattan College in 2022. This dynamic piece weaves together various cultures, traditions, and vibrant colors, expressed through choreography, music, costume, and lighting design. An excerpt of LACRIMIS, which the company toured across 3 states to major festivals this season, will also be featured. The piece was choreographed in 2015 to Nicholas Lens, Fire Requiem, Flamma Flamma. Alison Cook-Beatty’s choreography will be performed by the company’s dancers Madelaine Burnett; Jacob Blank; Ioanna Ioannides; Hannah Dillenbeck; Ava Trochiano and Gion Treichler, together with guest artists Kate Reyes; Elizabeth Andrews-Szendrody; Macie Harris; Vivianna DeSantiago; Reed Neuser and Ali-asha Polson. Additional repertoire on the program will be MINSTRAEL, GOOD MORNING HEARTACHE, A CIVIL TWILIGHT, and UNDAMELY choreographed and performed by Thomas/Ortiz Dance, and ECHOES, FICKEL CONSCIOUS and DECONSTRUCTED choreographed and performed by East Coast Contemporary Ballet.
