VCUarts Theatre will present the outrageously funny The Imaginary Invalid, the last
work of the celebrated French satirist, Molière. The story is set in 17th century France, where the
melodramatic Argan suffers from imagined ills and endless, unnecessary treatments. Argan plans to marry his daughter to a doctor so he can save on his medical bills; however, she's in love with someone else. Soon the whole household joins in her madcap scheme to save true love and give Argan's doctors a dose of their own medicine. Audiences can expect over-the-top emotions, physical comedy, “period-ish” design and costumes, and many laughs!
VCUarts Theatre is at 922 Park Avenue, Richmond, VA.
