Dundalk Community Theatre AUDITIONS: Titanic - The Musical


DUNDALK COMMUNITY THEATRE

Audition dates:
Tuesday August 14th - 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

If callbacks are needed, they will either be on Weds 8/15 or Thurs 8/16

Audition location:
CCBC Dundalk

Baltimore, MD 21222

This is (essentially) an ensemble show filled with principal roles. There is NO "chorus".
Looking for excellent singers/actors (ages 16 - 60)

Those auditioning should have 16 bars of appropriate music ready
and be prepared to read from the script.

OFFICERS AND CREW of the TITANIC :
Captain Smith - 50's, excellent actor with strong bass/baritone voice, commanding presence.
1st Officer Murdoch - 30's/40's, strong actor
2nd Officer Lightoller - 20's, excellent baritone (strong singer needed)
3rd Officer Pitman - 20's/30's, solid tenor (strong singer needed)
Hitchens - 20's, strong actor and singer
Barrett - ship's stoker, exceptional baritenor and actor, leading man
Harold Bride - radio operator, shy and introspective, very strong tenor and actor
Fleet - ship's lookout, very strong tenor
Hartley - ship's bandleader, charming tenor
Etches - 1st Class Steward, 20's/30's, need excellent actor and singer, character role
Latimer - Steward in training, older teenager, strong singer and actor
Bellboy - youngish teenager, disciplined and mature beyond his years.
Crew - Additional singers / actors needed, both male and female.

PASSENGERS ABOARD THE TITANIC :
Thomas Andrews - ship's architect, exceptional actor with powerful tenor voice
Bruce Ismay - ship's owner, very strong actor who sings well (baritenor)

1st CLASS - ALL are strong actor/singers
Isidor and Ida Strauss - elderly couple, wealthy but grounded and kind, strong singer/actors.
JJ Astor - 50, extremely wealthy & Madeline Astor - 19, pregnant, naive and spoiled
B. Guggenheim - middle-aged, wealthy & Mme Aubert - youngish, his mistress, French
Mr and Mrs Widener - middle-aged socialites
The Thayers - grounded, happy couple with a young son (8 - 10)
Charlotte Cardoza - rich mystery woman, strong character actress
The Major - stereotypical British military man, older, funny
JH Rogers - high stakes gambler, stylish and smart, any age, strong actor

2nd CLASS - Need very solid actors who sing very well
Alice Beane - middle-aged, high-strung, romantic dreamer, strong presence & voice, funny
Edgar Beane - her loving and sometimes amenable husband, charming actor who sings
Charles Clarke - very strong baritone, leading man
Caroline Neville - English socialite who gives up money for love, strong soprano

3rd CLASS - Many of these double the 1st Class
Kate McGowan - 20's/30's, gutsy Irish girl, spunky and likeable, strong singer/actress
Kate Mullins (Kate #2) - Irish, young, shy, scared, a "newborn bird", slight build
Kate Murphey (Kate # 3) - Irish, loud, loyal, solid build/larger, funny
Jim Mullins - 20's/30's, handsome leading man, Irish, good and charming actor
Other Italian, Greek, French, Scandinavian, Jewish immigrants (many!)
