For auditions, you are asked to prepare a 1minute dramatic monologue and a 1 minute comedic monologue. Please bring a headshot, or recent photograph, and a resume. Auditions will be seen in the order in which you sign up, so please do not contact Riverside for an audition time.
The performance schedule is as follows:
Wednesday matinees at 1:30pm; Thursday through Saturday evenings at 8pm;
Sunday matinees at 3pm.

Truvy Jones – to play 35 ?45 ? Owns the beauty shop. Vivacious. Dispenses advice with lots of hairspray. Objective: to have a family. Misses her son, Poot.
Annelle Dupup?Desoto ? to play 18 ? 24 ? Newly hired assistant. Moves from unsure to wild to religious. Objective: to find acceptance.
Clairee Belcher ? to play 55 to late 60’s ? Widow of forme r mayor. Grand dame. Elegant, sophisticated, a true beauty. Objective: to find self worth or independence after her husband's death.
Shelby Eatenton?Latcherie – to play 19ish ? Prettiest girl in town. Loves pink. Strong willed, passionate. Objective: to be a mother and grandmother. Live a long life.
M'Lynn Eatenton ? to play 40 to 50’s ? Shelby's mother. Always knows what’s best, strong, stubborn, the heart of the piece. Objective: to protect her daughter.
Ouiser (pronounced Weezer) Boudreaux ? to play 55 to late 60’s ? Wealthy curmudgeon. Tough, Eccentric character. Objective: to be loved.
