CHILDREN’S AUDITIONS FOR SUMMER 2012 PRODUCTION
OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC AT THEATRE BY THE SEA
Ocean State Theatre Company announces Open Children’s Auditions for its summer production ofThe Sound of Music at Theatre By The Sea. Producing Artistic Director Amiee Turner, who will be directing The Sound of Music, is looking for children between the ages of 6-18 years old to play the Von Trapp family children.
Selected children will need to be available for afternoon, evening and weekend rehearsals fromJune 5 – 19 and all day and evening performances from June 20 – July 14, 2012.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 5:00 – 10:00 pm at:
University of Rhode Island (URI)
Fine Arts Building, Studio G
Rt. 138 and Upper College Road
Kingston, RI 02881
Those auditioning should bring a headshot or a recent photo and a resume (if available). Children should come with a short prepared song preferably with sheet music. A cappella is also acceptable. No tape recorders or CD players. Those asked to stay will learn a short dance combination. Please bring or wear appropriate shoes for dancing. Sign-up will begin at 5:00 pm.

Gretl – female. To play 5 years old.
Marta – female. To play 7 years old.
Brigitta – female. To play 10 years old.
Kurt – male. To 11 years old.
Louisa – female. To play 13 years old.
Friedrich – male. To play 14 years old.
Liesl – female. To play 16 years old
