Auditions for Lovers' Quarrels

Show Synopsis:
Translated by Richard Wilbur, this is a complex 17th century French farce, animated by deception and misunderstanding. At its core is a young woman named Ascagne who has spent her life wearing masculine disguises for the sake of inheritance. She cleverly marries her sister Lucille's suitor Valere by disguising herself during the midnight ceremony, and this sets off a chain of events that change the lives of all those around.

Seeking Male and Female actors for the following roles:

Ascagne - A young woman who disguises herself as a man since childhood

Valère - A male suitor

Lucile - Ascagne's sister


Mascarille - Valère's manservant

Éraste - A young man who jealously loves Lucile

Gros-René - Éraste's valet

Marinette - Lucile's maid

Albert - father of Lucile and Ascagne

Polidore - father of Valere

Frosine - confidant to Ascagne

Metaphraste - a pedant

La Rapiere - a bravo

Auditions will be starting at 7:00pm on Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20.
Auditions end at 9:00pm. Callbacks will be Wednesday, March 21 (as needed).

Please expect to cold read from the script and participate in improv/activities.
Bring headshot/ resume if you have one.
Participants must be age 17 or older.

First rehearsal read thru scheduled for Sunday, March 25 at 7:00pm.
