About the Play: Harvey is a classic comedy that is full of gentle humor and imagination. Uncle Elwood has become an embarrassment to his sister, Veta Louise, and an impediment to the social life of her daughter, Myrtle Mae. Elwood insists that he has a friend named Harvey, a six foot tall white rabbit, which accompanies Elwood everywhere. So Veta determines to have Elwood committed to Chumley’s Rest, a sanitarium; but somehow ends up having herself committed. While this gets untangled, the ever-pleasant Elwood and Harvey charm and intrigue the rest home staff and finally come to terms with Veta, who realizes that Harvey may be something special after all.
