Synopsis
A dramatic, sensitive, and surprisingly funny play. It explores the topical and very real issues of adoption, fear, Same-sex marriage, religion, love and loss, and the courage it takes to be an unconventional family. After a shocking misfortune, the grieving Raul is forced to care for his opinionated, feisty mother-in-law, Emma, who turns Raul’s life upside down. When the birthfather of Raul and his partner Peter's, adoptive son, Chris, makes a surprising return to wrestle custody of the child he never knew he had, the one person Raul never expected he could count on, his Mother-In Law Emma, becomes his greatest ally. minded Jewish woman. Speaks her mind. Comes
out strong but there are layers to her.

LUKE STEVENS: 22,any ethnicity, well dressed, military
man, strong Christian views, Chris’s birth
father, comes out homophobe but there is
more to him. Strong actor.
CHRIS CARTER-MEDINA: 7 years old, his ethnicity needs to be of
the same race of Luke and Jessica. The kid
is bigger than life. Lights up the room.

MARIA: Any ethnicity, late 20s, Chris’s nanny,
loves him like it was her own. Raul's
childhood friend. Would do anything for the
