[ KELSEY ] 22 years old, female-identifying (she/her pronouns), a senior in undergrad, still living in the town where she was born; Kelsey has always played by the rules and appreciates order, or at least the appearance of it; simultaneously bored of school and scared of what comes next after graduation.
[ REDD ] early 20s, **all gender expressions encouraged to submit** (written with he/him pronouns); unemployed and not in school; a walking stereotype of the “fuckboi” persona in 2016; the literal worst, but irritatingly charming. Strong movement and physical comedy skills a must.
[ STEPHANIE/ANNA ] Stephanie: late 20s/early 30s, waitress at The Cheesecake factory; Anna: 22, Kelsey’s best friend and classmate, a driven student and a good person.
STORYLINE: BETTER JUDGEMENT – Boy meets girl, girl loses herself. Better Judgement is a psychological rom-com to make you doubt every movie couple you’ve ever rooted for. This is not a love story. This is a battle between good and evil; a social commentary rooted in comedy and magical realism. The magical and impossible take place alongside the all-too-familiar.
