AUDITIONS FOR ALL SHOOK UP
The Grove Theatre in Upland, Ca is having open auditions for its upcoming production of All Shook Up. Producers-Sherry and Bill Kinison. Director-Julio Villegas. ALL ROLES ARE OPEN. All ethnicities welcome. This is a non-equity production looking for the following characters:
NATALIE HALLER: a mechanic. CHAD: a great-lookin’, motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout. JIM HALLER: Natalie’s widowed father. SYLVIA: the no-nonsense, African-American owner of SYLVIA’S HONKY-TONK. LORRAINE: Sylvia’s teenage daughter. DENNIS: a young, awkward, aspiring dentist. MISS SANDRA: the beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town’s museum. MAYOR MATILDA HYDE: the town’s conservative mayor. DEAN HYDE: Matilda’s teenage son. He has grown up at a military boarding school. SHERIFF EARL: the law in town. A man of not many words. ENSEMBLE: 25 – 30 teens and adults – must be able to sing – some solo parts available, also some parts with gymnastic/tumbling ability required AUDITION INFORMATION: ALL ACTORS MUST BE PREPARED TO SING 16 BARS OF MUSIC. NO TRANSPOSING. BRING SHEET MUSIC IN CORRECT KEY. ACCOMPANIST WILL BE PROVIDED. Be prepared to “dance” and/or do “movement” if asked.
