"A Diseased Feeling" by K.S.G.H is a new original stage play making its debut at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre as apart of their playwrights showcase. This will be a non-AEA; non union production. It is a short play with an expected run time of 25 minutes. It will also be presented along with several of the other participating shows.

This is a two man show. Everyone is welcomed to audition. Especially seeking LGBT/ Performers of color.
Auditions:
Please prepare a 90sec contemporary monologue. Additional sides will be given at the auditions.
Synopsis:
Khalid, after a very sexual start to his night begins to reflect on everything he has done in the last few hours. This moment of guilt urges him to visit his best friend, Rasheed, of whom he had been consciously avoiding. The story takes place at the tender hour of one am, and highlights the late night conversation of these two guys. After a rocky first encounter they manage to get into a meaningful conversation discussing religion, God, nature, and personal identity. They ultimately end up sharing the deepest parts of themselves in an encounter that leaves Rasheed absolutely broken.
(Note: There is a moment of intimacy between these two male characters; which includes kissing.)
Cast:
RASHEED PHILLIPS: 18-25, black male college student. Has a Strong desire to learn and understand the world he lives in. He is consumed by earnest thoughts. Carries a sense of conservatism in this age of liberalism. He is greatly interested by the classical philosophical writings and the idea of God. Struggles with the concept of personal identity. Has a fear of silence
KHALID GREENE:18-25, Male; any ethnicity. A free spirited individual
who goes about his life without any real worries. Lackadaisical. Into fun times and cheap thrills. Imagine him to be a sort of predator, very carnal, very sexual. A liar by nature. Lives with an air of unparalleled freedom. A sense of intellectualism masked by modernity. Hates hypocrisy.
This is a non-equity production. This production is all volunteer based, Actors will not be paid.
