Traits, Skills & Qualifications for Ideal Stage Manager (including but not limited to):
• Highly organized, thorough, and detail-oriented
• Patient, understanding, and compassionate
• Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic to test out new things and work with an ensemble of actors with various levels of acting experience
• Team player accustomed to working with many individuals, production team, parents, children, etc.
• Excellent communicator with production team, cast members, parents of child actors, etc. and well-versed in email conversations
• Experience in working with community actors of all ages abilities, including children and adults with disabilities
• Knowledgeable in theater and stage managing, ideally studying towards a degree in Theater, Stage Management, Directing, and/or Performance; or having comparable experience
• Genuine excitement and love of stage managing A Christmas Carol
• Available for the rehearsal and performance dates (exceptions possible with advanced approval)
Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities of Stage Manager (including but not limited to):
• Serve as primary contact person for the cast and crew, emailing out rehearsal schedules, rehearsal reports, important notes/messages, and more
• Call or text actors if late for rehearsal or performance
• Note blocking and stage directions during rehearsal
• Keep and share detailed notes and rehearsal reports for the production crew
• Act as right-hand person to the Stage and Music Directors
• Serve as role model of the cast and crew, especially the younger children actors
• Help coordinate Parent Volunteers for backstage assistance and ushering
• Stipend position, negotiable
